Daan Roosegarde: 'Smog Free Project' by Studio Roosegarde

In Rotterdam the Smog Free Project transforms the makers district into a clean air park,
activating citizens, governments, NGOs, pro-bicycle campaigns and the clean-tech industry to
work together to make cities smog free. The Smog Free Project is an experience of a clean
future and makes people part of the solution instead of the problem. #smogfree

Gavin Wade: 'Carpark' 1994, San Diego by Nina Katchadourian, Mark Tribe and Steven Matheson

For one day thousands of cars parking at Southwestern College were parked according to the colour of the car in 14 different parking lots, entire colour fields were made of blue, red, yellow cars with the highest percentage of car colour being white at 17%.  Red was second with 13%. I love the idea of an artist re-ordering the reality of everyones day whether they wanted it or not. There was a car park for people who didn’t want to join in the process which was the only multicoloured section.

Glenn Howells: Brammall Building by Peter Randall-Page

Commissioned by the University of Birmingham for the façade of the new Bramhall Music Building, Theme and Variation was installed summer 2014. Theme and Variation is a frieze constructed from 870 hand made terracotta tiles using the ‘Sgrafito’ techniques of the original 1905 friezes which can be found adjacent to the new building. The contemporary design is based on rhythm and pattern as a visual evocation of music.
